UROs Given Another Accreditation Option

The Illinois Department of Insurance has amended a regulation regarding registration of workers’ compensation utilization review organizations. The amended regulation, published in the Nov. 16 edition of the Illinois Register, took effect on Nov. 1. The regulation is being amended to recognize the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care among the list of accreditors from which UROs may receive accreditation and qualify for reduced registration and renewal fees.
