The maximum weekly benefit for New York's injured workers will increase to $844.29 effective on July 1, 2015, based on an increase in the statewide average weekly wage in 2014.
The New York State Workers' Compensation Board announced in a bulletin last week that the statewide average weekly wage for 2014 was $1,266.44.
Reforms signed into law by former Gov. Eliot Spitzer in 2007 increased the maximum weekly benefit from $400 for the first time since the 1990s and indexed it to two-thirds of the statewide average weekly wage on July 1, 2010.
