A San Diego insurance agent was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to pay $250,105 in restitution for premium theft, the California Insurance Department announced on Thursday.Richard Scott Webster Jr., also known as Chris Webster, 33, collected $240,000 in premiums from a Northern California roofing contractor in 2009 and $9,000 from a pharmacy in El Cajon, but kept the money for personal use, the Insurance Department said.
