Governors in Utah could appoint alternates to the Labor Commission Appeals Board to stand in when other appointees are not available, under a bill moving through the Legislature.
HB 15, by Rep. James Dunnigan, R-Taylorsville, would authorize the governor to appoint one alternate employer representative and one alternate employee representative to six-year terms on the board. Alternate appointments would need Senate approval, the same as the primary appointees.
