The United States Supreme Court will not review a California Supreme Court decision allowing an allegedly undocumented worker to sue his former employer for its refusal to rehire him after he got hurt on the job.
Sierra Chemical v. Salas, No. 14-369, arose from a divided California Supreme Court decision in June, which said that an employer's claim that a worker was not legally eligible to hold a job in the United States was not a complete defense to the worker's claims under the state's Fair Employment and Housing Act.
