Federal work safety inspectors who saw eight workers re-roofing a commercial building in O'Fallon, Illinois, without fall protection fined their employer, Joiner Sheet Metal & Roofing, $61,721. Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors investigating the Greenville, Illinois-based roofer found that: Workers faced falls of 14 feet because of inadequate fall protection.
