The California Assembly Insurance Committee passed a handful of comp bills Wednesday, including a measure supporters say could reduce employers’ annual Subsequent Injuries Benefits Trust Fund assessment by more than $200 million.
In addition to passing AB 1329, which, among other things, would specify the type of evidence necessary to qualify for SIBTF benefits, the committee also passed:
AB 1048, which would explicitly allow independent bill review to resolve disputes involving alleged contractual discounts.
