A Northern California applicants’ attorney has pleaded guilty to federal charges that he paid illegal kickbacks to a union boss in exchange for client referrals.
Marc Terbeek, an attorney in the Bay Area city of Albany who represented injured workers as well as marijuana dispensary operators, also pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to helping the union boss allegedly conceal a $600,000 loan by “structuring” bank deposits in a way to avoid tipping off the government about large cash transactions.
