DWC Adds 2 Doctors to Disciplined QME List

The California Division of Workers' Compensation added a qualified medical examiner (QME) accused of overbilling for services filed and another accused of not reporting disciplinary action by the Medical Board of California to its list of disciplined physicians.The division stayed three months suspensions of the QME certifications for Dr. Mark Bernhard of Pasadena and Dr. Clifford Bernstein of Huntington Beach.Bernhard was accused of overbilling by claiming he performed more complex and in-depth evaluations than were necessary.
