Court Properly Limits Damages Available to Heirs of Drowned Worker

A Louisiana appellate court upheld a grant of partial summary judgment limiting the potential damages for the seller of a vessel that capsized and killed a father of three. David Wayne Garner worked for Lynx Production Services Inc. In February 2013, Lynx assigned Garner to work on a vessel in the navigable waters off the coast of Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.
