W.R. Berkley Net Income Down 26% in Q3

W.R. Berkley Corp. has reported third-quarter net income of $162 million, a 26% decrease from $221 million in the third quarter of 2016. For the first nine months of the year, net income was $394 million, down 12% from $449 million in the prior-year period. Net premiums written of $1.57 billion in the third quarter were down from $1.61 billion in the same quarter last year.
