Auditor Says State Paid $18,900 in SIF Benefits to Deceased Worker

The Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court inappropriately paid $18,900 in Second Injury Fund benefits to a deceased worker, according to a report by the state's auditor. Though the money has been repaid, the auditor recommended that the WCC improve its procedures to ensure that payments reach the proper recipients.
