The Illinois State Universities Retirement System board of trustees announced the appointment of William E. Mabe, a former chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, as executive director of the retirement system effective June 21.Mabe took the helm of the BWC in late 2005, when the agency was being rocked by a scandal over its investment decisions and other matters that led to 15 criminal convictions.
