The California Legislature’s Joint Legislative Audit Committee will hold an oversight hearing Jan. 7 to discuss a recent review of the qualified medical evaluator process.
State Auditor Elaine Howle in November published the results of her office’s review of the medical-legal system that found the Division of Workers’ Compensation hasn’t ensured it has enough QMEs to meet demand and that the providers are producing high-quality reports.
