Drug tests of injured workers taking gabapentin showed alarming results in almost 70% of cases last year, according to drug testing company Cordant Health Solutions.
Out of 430 injured workers tested in 2018 who were prescribed gabapentin, 69% came back with an unexpected result, Cordant said. Of those, 41% did not have the prescribed gabapentin in their system, 38% came back with a non-reported medication detected, and 33% tested positive for alcohol or an illicit drug.
