A federal jury last week convicted two South Florida doctors of conspiracy to commit money laundering in connection with an investigation of pain clinics operating as "pill mills" in Broward and Palm Beach counties.U.S. Attorney Wilfredo A. Ferrer said a West Palm Beach, Fla., jury ended a two-month trial last week and convicted Dr. Cynthia Cadet, 43, of Parkland, Fla., and Dr. Joseph Castronuovo, 73, of Key Largo, Fla.The jury ordered the doctors to pay $10,001 each in restitution.
