The Texas Department of Insurance posted a bulletin describing workers’ compensation bills enacted during the 2021 session, including measures that created a presumption that COVID-19 is compensable and allow the Division of Workers’ Compensation to schedule remote benefit review conferences.
Senate Bill 22 created a rebuttable presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for first responders including police, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and detention officers.
