New workers' compensation medical fee guidelines published by the Texas Department of Insurance will increase prices by 1.1%.
The guidelines, based on the Medicare Economic Index, are for non-network and approved out-of-network services. The MEI is a weighted average of price changes for goods and services used to deliver physician services.
For services in 2016, the conversion factors for evaluation, management, general medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, radiology, pathology, anesthesia and surgery when performed in an office will be $56.82, up from $56.20.
