DWC Seeks Comments on Shoulder Surgery Audits

The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation is asking for public input for an audit to evaluate the appropriateness of acromioplasty or distal clavicle resection procedures as part of a rotator cuff repair. The Shoulder Surgery Plan-Based Audit would also address recordkeeping for these procedures. The division’s medical adviser approved the shoulder audit plan as part of the calendar year 2021 Medical Quality Review Annual Audit Plan.
