Governor Signs Legislation for E-Filing of Medical Bills

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) has signed Senate Bill 386 by Sen. Rick Ward III, D-Port Allen, a measure to promote use of electronic filing of medical bills.Current law provides that payments to providers of medical services to injured workers are due within 60 days after the employer or carrier receives written notice from the provider.SB 386 would require payments be made within 30 days to providers who use electronic notice to employers or carriers.
