Legislature Makes Second Injury Fund Permanent, Regulators Look at Formulary in Offseason

The Louisiana Legislature adjourned on Thursday after a session that saw the passage of only a few workers’ compensation bills, one that makes the Second Injury Fund permanent and another that allows school districts to form risk pools. But state lawmakers did not take action on other issues, such as the adoption of a closed drug formulary and streamlining the procedure for introducing new medical evidence after a claim has been denied.
