The city of Stratford, Connecticut, wrongly fired two firefighters who remain off work with injuries they sustained in the line of duty, the local firefighters' union leader says.
According to a report in the New Haven Register, Steven Michalovic, president of Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998, said the two were terminated on June 13 for an "alleged failure to provide a definitive return-to-work date" and called their firings "unconscionable." The firefighters were injured in the line of duty and have been out since 2022 and 2023, respectively...
