State Keeps Moratorium on Policy Cancellations Through May 12

Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon has issued a moratorium on policy cancellations, including those for workers' compensation insurance, through May 12. In a notice posted last week, Donelon revised Emergency Rule 40, which was originally issued March 26. The new rule provides clarification on rating plans insurers are to utilize in pricing products and on changes brought by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, passed by Congress in March.
