Safety National Reorganizes Casualty Underwriting Team

Safety National Casualty Corp. on Monday announced a reorganization of its field underwriting management team.

Effective immediately, Steve Cotnoir is executive director of casualty field underwriting, reporting to Executive Vice President of Underwriting Seth Smith. Cotnoir was previously vice president of large casualty.

Dennis Zervos has assumed the role of regional vice president-underwriting. He will lead field casualty and excess production underwriting for Safety National’s New York and Philadelphia regional offices. He now is a member of Cotnoir’s casualty senior leadership team.

Scott Thompson, formerly assistant vice president-large casualty, was appointed vice president-large casualty. He will provide leadership over casualty and production underwriting for Safety National’s San Francisco and Los Angeles regional offices, reporting directly to Cotnoir.

Russ Edwards, formerly regional underwriting manager-large casualty, was appointed assistant vice president-large casualty. He will oversee casualty and production underwriting in the carrier’s Atlanta office, reporting to Cotnoir.

“These field leadership team enhancements reflect how impactful our regional offices have been to this growth and, more importantly, our commitment to be situated closer to our brokers and buyers,” stated Gus Aivaliotis, executive vice president and chief underwriting officer at Safety National.
