The Alaska Workers’ Compensation Division on Tuesday lifted a restriction on injured workers traveling outside the state to attend second independent medical evaluations.
In August 2020, the WCD issued Bulletin 20-02 suspending any out-of-state second independent medical exam until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifts its admonition against air travel for those at high risk of getting very sick from COVID-19.
On Tuesday, the division issued Bulletin 21-03 to serve as termination of the earlier bulletin.
