The publisher of the Official Disability Guidelines, which are used as workers’ comp medical treatment guidelines in several states, has introduced a new product that rates medical treatments based on their correlation with return-to-work outcomes for injured employees.
The product, called the Treatment Analyzer on Outcomes, or TAO Index, is meant to fill in gaps where scientific evidence regarding a medical treatment’s effectiveness is insufficient.
