A U.S. Postal Service employee who claimed to have injured her back in 1987 was convicted of a 15-year fraud scheme in federal court this week, the Department of Justice announced.
Carol-Lisa Gutman, 62, of Delmar, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $200,000 fine after her conviction on five counts of wire fraud, two counts of federal employees' compensation fraud and one count of theft of government money.
