Taxi Driver Shot in Face by Passenger Can't Get Comp Benefits

The North Carolina Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that a taxi cab driver who was shot in the face by a passenger was not entitled to workers' compensation benefits because he was not an employee. Refik Ademovic was an independent contractor for Taxi USA, the court said, reversing a contrary finding by the Industrial Commission. Defense attorney Shelley W.
