Permanent rules that would allow physicians to be paid for using interactive communication equipment such as a video conference to remotely examine injured workers in Nevada could be adopted by spring, according to an attorney for the state’s Division of Industrial Relations.Proposed rules published in the Nevada State Register on Nov. 18 would require a carrier or administrator to pay for telemedicine services that it has authorized and the injured worker has agreed to at least five days before the appointment.
