Utah lawmakers approved a bill tweaking some provisions of a COVID-19 presumption that was enacted in April.
The House of Representatives and Senate both unanimously approved HB 5006 during a single-day special session on Thursday. The House voted 69-0 to pass the measure shortly before 2 p.m., and the Senate voted 28-0 to pass the measure 90 minutes later.
HB 5006, by Rep. James Dunnigan, R-Taylorsville, would list the types of workers covered by the presumption that COVID-19 is compensable.
