The New York State Workers' Compensation Board has finalized new medical treatment guidelines for hand, wrist and forearm injuries, and for work-related asthma.
The guidelines, which take effect Jan. 1, include treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome and will replace the old carpal tunnel guidelines, the board said in a bulletin Thursday.
The board published the proposed changes earlier this year and received several comments from stakeholders. The language was amended slightly to reflect some of the concerns, the board explained.
