Occ. Injury Rates still Exceed National Average

Private-sector workers in Nebraska suffered an occupational injury and illness rate of 3.9 per 100 full-time employees in 2012, higher than the national rate of 3.4, according to the state's Occupational Injury and Illness Survey, released Tuesday.That rate was unchanged from 2011, when the national rate was 3.5 occupational illnesses or injuries per 100 workers. The manufacturing injury saw the worst occupational injury rate in Nebraska, at 6.6 incidents per 100 workers.
