Former California Highway Patrol officer Tony Yao will be on probation for five years and have to pay $80,555 in restitution following a conviction on three felony charges related to a workers' compensation claim he filed following a May 2011 injury, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Yao on Wednesday was also sentenced to 240 days in the Sacramento County jail, but the incarceration was stayed pending his admission into a work release program.
