The Hartford, the No. 2 workers’ compensation insurer by market share, has hired Dr. Adam Seidner as its chief medical officer.
Seidner will lead The Hartford’s medical strategy and policy across all lines of business, with a particular focus on workers’ compensation and disability management. He will report to Chief Claims Officer John Kinney.
Seidner will oversee the company’s opioid management efforts. The Hartford said it has reduced claimants’ opioid use by almost 40% since 2015 through data analytics and pharmacy programs.
