The Nebraska Supreme Court, in a case of first impression, ruled that a wheelchair-accessible van is an "appliance" that an employer can be ordered to buy under the state's workers' compensation statute. Case: Simmons v. Precast Haulers, No. S-13-848, 07/03/2014, published. Facts: Michael Simmons suffered extensive crush injuries during his employment with Precast Haulers when a fully-loaded tractor-trailer ran over him.
