Workers’ compensation carriers and self-insured employers in Kentucky are explicitly exempt from reimbursing injured workers for the costs of medical cannabis, under newly enacted legislation.
Gov. Andy Beshear on Thursday enacted Senate Bill 47, by Sen. Stephen West, R-Paris, which will allow patients with qualifying conditions including cancer, chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder to purchase medical cannabis.
