Updated MTUS Drug List Takes Effect Aug. 1

The California Division of Workers’ Compensation announced that it updated the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule drug list for services provided on or after Aug. 1. The DWC said it eliminated recommendations for two drugs on the list, which identifies medications exempt from prospective utilization review and those that still require prior approval. Drugs that are not designated as exempt or non-exempt are also subject to prospective UR.
