Lawmakers Approve Misclassification, Cumulative Trauma Bills

The Virginia legislature passed three more bills that could make it easier for some workers to receive workers' compensation benefits. House Bill 1407, which incorporates Senate Bill 744, would direct state agencies to continue utilizing the multifactor Internal Revenue Service test to determine if a worker should be classed as a non-employee — not subject to wage, tax and workers' compensation laws.
