Nearly a year after a bill was introduced in the legislature to expand workers' compensation coverage for first responders, Senate Bill 429 remains dead in the water.
The bill, which came out of committee last April 29, quickly stalled when a minority report was issued by Republican Sen. Ross Turner. The Senate does not consider contested legislation carrying a minority report, Sen. Paul Thurmond's office said Thursday.
