AIG Names Lucy Fato as EVP and General Counsel

American International Group Inc. has hired Lucy Fato as the company’s executive vice president and general counsel, effective Oct. 16. Fato succeeds Peter Solmssen, who has been AIG’s general counsel since last year and plans to return to retirement. Fato is currently managing director, head of the Americas and general counsel at global investigations firm Nardello & Co.
