Worker Can't Get Reimbursement for Post-Settlement Medical Expenses

A Texas appellate court upheld a jury’s determination that a worker was not entitled to reimbursement of his medical expenses after he entered into a settlement. Case: Guerra v. ACE American Insurance Co., No. 13-17-00652-CV, 06/06/2019, published. Facts: Guadalupe Guerra Jr. suffered injuries in 1990 while working for the Reynolds Metals Co. Reynolds had workers’ compensation insurance coverage with INA of Texas.
