Alabama Retail Comp said it will return more than $7.6 million in premiums to members in 2016 through its retrospective return plan.
The self-insured, self-administered workers' compensation fund sponsored by the Alabama Retail Association, said its retrospective rating plan takes into account actual experience of members when determining how much to return. Lower losses result in a higher retrospective credit at renewal, which rewards participants for maintaining a safe workplace, the association said.
