State Revises Hospital and Surgery Center Fee Schedules

The Alabama Department of Labor has revised its 2018 workers' compensation fee schedules for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The revisions include prevailing reimbursement rates and maximum fees for more than 150 hospitals and 40 surgery centers.

The revisions replace pages 87 through 95 of the 2018 schedule, the department announced in a memo. For hospitals, the schedule includes reimbursement amounts allowed for the first three days of stay as well as stop-loss percentages.

The surgery center schedule covers the discount rates. For most hospitals, the rates are unchanged from 2017, but for several, the reimbursement rates have increased slightly.
