Hundreds of workers with pre-1991 injuries have seen their lifetime medical benefits suddenly cut off, and Texas regulators have not exercised enough authority to force insurers to meet their obligations.
That's according to a longtime Texas claimants' attorney, one of several people who filed public comments recently about the Division of Workers' Compensation's plan to review the “old law” rules governing pre-1991 injuries.
