Jaime Yraguen has been elected president of the Associated Oregon Loggers as the organization eyes an expansion of its insurance offerings beyond workers’ compensation.
Yraguen was elected on Jan. 20 during the association’s 47th annual convention in Eugene, the News-Review in Roseburg reported. The association represents more than 1,000 contract logging companies and related businesses in the state.
The association runs an insurance program for workers' compensation in partnership with SAIF Corp. The program includes negotiating rates, policy reviews, audit assistance and safety consulting.
Associated Oregon Loggers is looking at an expansion into other property and casualty coverage as well. Doing so would allow the association to offer members insurance packages, Yraguen told the News-Review.
Yraguen is co-owner of Basco Logging Inc. in Sutherlin.
