High Court Says 'Act' by Inmate Includes Nonvolitional Conduct

A divided New York Court of Appeal ruled that a corrections officer who suffered injuries when an inmate fell on her had sustained injuries as the result of an “act" by the inmate.  Case: Matter of Walsh v.
