New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez signed into law a bill that would increase attorney fees as well as a cleanup bill that changes some requirements for where hearings are held and how the Workers’ Compensation Administration notifies parties.Senate Bill 233, by John M. Sapien, D-Corrales, will increase the attorney fee in the Workers’ Compensation Act to $22,500 from $16,500, and the cap in the Occupational Disease Disablement Act to $22,500 from $12,500.
