Board Adopts Emergency Telemedicine Rules

The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board announced that it adopted emergency rules allowing telemedicine in some circumstances. The board said in a bulletin issued Tuesday that the emergency rules took effect July 13 and will be in effect for 90 days. For evaluation and management sessions, authorized providers should continue to use Current Procedural Terminology codes 99212 through 99214, along with modifier 95, and should indicate “11” as the place of service when video services are used, the order notes.
