Cal/OSHA has once again cited ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Co. for workplace safety violations, this time proposing penalties of $72,000 for endangering employees after failing to repair faulty equipment at its refinery in Torrance.
Inspectors from the workplace safety agency visited the Torrance refinery after a hydraulic acid leak at an alkylation unit on Sept. 26, 2015. They found the leak was related to a temporary clamp the company had placed on a nozzle to stem an earlier leak in 2011, according to Cal/OSHA.
