Mayor Announces WC Review Board for Injuries

In response to escalated payments for workers’ compensation claims, the Waukegan City Council has announced that it will be initiating an accident review board to analyze on-the-job injuries and determine how future accidents can be prevented, according to the Chicago Tribune.  The announcement was made at the council’s May 4 meeting and detailed issues with paying out high claims, including three this past February that cost the city more than $900,000 in settlements.  The council discussed that the city budgeted $2.2 million for workers' compensation claims in...
