In response to escalated payments for workers’ compensation claims, the Waukegan City Council has announced that it will be initiating an accident review board to analyze on-the-job injuries and determine how future accidents can be prevented, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The announcement was made at the council’s May 4 meeting and detailed issues with paying out high claims, including three this past February that cost the city more than $900,000 in settlements.
